Moneyboxx Finance moves into RBI’s middle layer NBFC category

Moneyboxx Finance Limited has crossed ₹1,000 crore in total assets as of September 30, 2026.

With this, the company now falls within the Middle Layer (NBFC-ML) category under the Reserve Bank of India’s regulatory framework.

The company clarified that the figure refers to total assets as per its balance sheet and is separate from its assets under management (AUM).

Under the RBI’s framework, non-deposit-taking NBFCs with an asset size of ₹1,000 crore and above are placed in the Middle Layer. Moneyboxx will now be subject to the regulatory requirements that apply to NBFC-ML entities, in line with the provisions and timelines set out in that framework.

The company described the shift as a natural progression in its growth and said it reinforces its commitment to governance, risk management, compliance and responsible lending.

Over the years, Moneyboxx has built a lending business focused on underserved micro and small enterprises, covering secured MSME finance, livestock finance, rooftop solar finance and digital lending. As the business has grown, the company has worked on strengthening its portfolio quality, institutional funding relationships, technology platform, risk-management framework and governance capabilities.

Deepak Aggarwal, Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Moneyboxx Finance Limited, said, “Crossing ₹1,000 crore in total assets is a proud moment for Moneyboxx and an important step in building a strong, scalable and responsible financial institution. We are deeply grateful to our shareholders, lenders, employees, customers and partners, whose trust has brought us here.

Over the last few years, we have strengthened the foundations of the business, from the secured nature of our portfolio to our technology, risk management and funding relationships. As we enter our next phase of scale, our focus remains on disciplined growth, strong asset quality and improving operating efficiency, and we are excited about the opportunity ahead.”

The company said it will continue to comply with all applicable regulatory requirements prescribed by the Reserve Bank of India and other regulatory authorities from time to time.
