L&T Finance and Pine Labs partner to enable agentic commerce on PLANET App

L&T Finance Ltd. (LTF) has partnered with Pine Labs Ltd. to introduce agentic commerce and payments on the L&T Finance PLANET App through Pine Labs Payments Protocol (P3P) and the Grantex protocol.

The collaboration will integrate Pine Labs’ Agentic Storefront into the PLANET App, enabling AI agents to interact with customers and execute transactions securely within a governed framework. The initial use case will focus on autonomous flight bookings, allowing customers to complete transactions beyond conventional chatbot-based assistance.

The partnership is designed to enable end-to-end transaction fulfilment, where AI agents can act on customer intent while operating within user-defined safeguards and permissions.

Manish Kumar Gupta, Chief Executive – Urban Unsecured Assets, Payments & Digital Partnerships, L&T Finance Ltd., said the collaboration marks a shift from conversational assistance towards transaction execution. He added that the company aims to create a personalised commerce and payments experience through autonomous AI agents, with flight bookings serving as the starting point for expansion into multiple merchant categories.

Sanjeev Kumar, Chief Technology Officer, Pine Labs Ltd., said commerce is moving towards an intent-driven model in which trusted AI agents can securely execute transactions. He added that P3P and the Grantex protocol are designed to provide the trust infrastructure required for buyer and seller agents to transact autonomously.

Through the collaboration, Pine Labs and L&T Finance aim to combine AI-driven customer experiences with the trust, security and accountability expected from financial institutions, creating a foundation for agent-to-agent commerce on the PLANET App.
