Zoroastrian Bank marks centenary with higher Earnings and improved asset quality

The Zoroastrian Co-operative Bank Ltd. has stepped into its 100th year after delivering a strong financial performance in FY 2025-26. The bank’s net profit climbed 51 per cent to Rs 7.41 crore from Rs 4.10 crore in the previous financial year, while the Board recommended a dividend of 15 per cent for shareholders.

During the Annual General Meeting in Mumbai, Chairman Homa D. Petit described the centenary year as a landmark in the bank’s journey and acknowledged the continued support of founders, shareholders, customers, employees and other stakeholders.

The bank also reported a significant improvement in asset quality. Gross Non-Performing Assets (GNPA) reduced to 0.12 per cent from 0.85 per cent a year ago, while Net Non-Performing Assets (NNPA) remained at nil. Recoveries from previously written-off accounts reached Rs 3.45 crore during FY26, registering 100 per cent growth over the previous year.

Petit said the bank has transformed into a modern financial institution serving customers across different sections of society. He added that several customer-focused initiatives, especially for younger customers, will be introduced along with enhanced technology-enabled banking services.

Daljit Dogra, Managing Director & CEO, Zoroastrian Bank, said nearly 90 per cent of the bank’s transactions are now carried out through digital channels, supported by a comprehensive range of banking products and services. He added that the bank has strengthened its cybersecurity framework to provide secure and seamless digital banking.

Daljit Dogra further said the bank recorded no fresh slippages in its asset portfolio during FY 2025-26. Retail loans account for 43 per cent of the total advances, while exposure to any single industry remains below 15 per cent, reflecting a well-diversified loan portfolio.

Looking ahead, the bank plans to expand its retail lending portfolio with a focus on housing, vehicle and education loans. It also intends to introduce secured personal loans and education loans for school and undergraduate students, including special concessions for girl students.
