Tamilnad Mercantile Bank partners TechFini to strengthen UPI infrastructure

Tamilnad Mercantile Bank (TMB) has partnered with TechFini, a UPI infrastructure and FinTech solutions provider, to strengthen its UPI acquiring and issuing capabilities across India.

As part of the collaboration, TechFini will act as a Technology Service Provider (TSP) to TMB, with a focus on enabling faster, secure, and scalable UPI infrastructure for payment aggregators, NBFCs, merchants, and FinTech partners.

The partnership will also expand UPI use cases in lending and collections by leveraging TechFini’s UPI Autopay solution, enabling automated EMI and loan repayments directly from customers’ UPI handles.

According to the bank, TechFini’s cloud-native UPI platform is capable of processing up to 10,000 transactions per second, offering enterprise-grade scalability, resilience, and readiness for future UPI innovations.

Commenting on the partnership, Salee S. Nair, Managing Director and CEO, Tamilnad Mercantile Bank, said the collaboration aligns with the bank’s focus on combining trust with innovation while strengthening its UPI ecosystem for merchants and fintech partners nationwide.
