SIDBI expands digital invoice validation with MonetaGo

The Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) has deployed MonetaGo’s Secure Financing solution across its GST-Sahay invoice-based financing platform following a three-month pilot.

The deployment expands the existing partnership between SIDBI and MonetaGo and is aimed at strengthening invoice validation across the bank’s credit platform. GST-Sahay supports the credit lifecycle from loan origination through repayment.

MonetaGo’s Secure Financing solution is used to validate invoices financed through India’s Trade Receivables Electronic Discounting System (TReDS). The system also supports invoice validation across other participating factoring platforms and lenders, including SBI Global Factors and India Factoring.

The deployment builds on SIDBI’s earlier engagement with MonetaGo. In November 2025, the two organisations partnered to implement MonetaGo’s digital public infrastructure technology, with SIDBI stating that the solution would help de-risk trade and safeguard MSMEs’ access to credit.

Secure Financing is designed as a trade finance registry system that helps identify duplicate financing and validate trade-related transactions across financial institutions.

The latest deployment comes as financial institutions in India continue to adopt digital infrastructure for credit processes, particularly for MSMEs, while seeking to reduce risks associated with invoice-based lending.

Established in 1990, SIDBI is the principal financial institution for promoting, financing and developing India’s MSME sector. The bank operates through 141 branches across the country and manages total assets of approximately Rs. 632,378 crore.

The integration further expands the use of digital infrastructure in India’s trade finance ecosystem, supporting efforts to improve transparency, reduce duplication and streamline working capital access for MSMEs.
