PNB opens first startup-centric branch in New Delhi

Punjab National Bank (PNB) has inaugurated its first Startup-centric Branch at Bhikaji Cama Place in New Delhi, marking a significant step towards fostering entrepreneurship and innovation.

The launch was graced by Arvind Kumar, Director General, Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), as the Chief Guest, along with Ashok Chandra, MD & CEO, PNB.  

Senior dignitaries including Subodh Sachan, Director, STPI, and Ankesh Kumar, Additional Director, STPI, were also present, underscoring the importance of this initiative.

PNB signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with STPI to extend financial support to eligible startups. As part of this collaboration, STPI will provide PNB with a curated list of incubated, onboarded, or graduated startups, helping connect them to tailored financial products and startup-focused schemes offered by the bank.

Highlighting the vision behind the initiative, Ashok Chandra, MD, PNB said the dedicated branch will serve as a one-stop banking destination for startups, ensuring comprehensive support to fuel the ambitions of emerging entrepreneurs. 

“Our partnership with STPI strengthens the startup ecosystem with financial solutions designed to accelerate growth,” he noted.

Applauding the initiative, STPI Director General Arvind Kumar said the collaboration combines STPI’s technological expertise with PNB’s banking excellence to create a robust environment for startups to thrive.

With this strategic step, PNB has positioned itself as a proactive partner in India’s entrepreneurial journey, offering focused support to innovators and businesses shaping the future.
