Central Bank of India opens IFSC Banking Unit at GIFT City

Central Bank of India has inaugurated its International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) Banking Unit (IBU) at Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), marking a significant step in expanding its international banking operations. The facility was inaugurated on 29 June 2026 by Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Kalyan Kumar, along with senior officials of the bank.

The new IFSC Banking Unit will enable the bank to provide a range of foreign currency banking solutions to corporate customers engaged in global business. The offerings include foreign currency loans, trade finance services, treasury and risk management solutions, along with other specialised banking products designed to meet evolving cross-border financing requirements.

With the launch of the IBU, Central Bank of India aims to strengthen its presence in the international financial ecosystem and enhance its ability to support businesses seeking overseas funding and global banking services.

The expansion into GIFT City also aligns with the bank’s strategy to broaden its international footprint and leverage India’s growing role as a global financial services hub.
