Bank of Baroda launches bob SAMVAD AI multilingual platform

Bank of Baroda has launched ‘bob SAMVAD’, an AI-powered multilingual conversational platform designed to transform in-branch customer interactions.

The platform was inaugurated by M. Nagaraju, Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, who highlighted the initiative as a step toward more inclusive and accessible banking services.

Developed entirely in-house, bob SAMVAD enables real-time, low-latency, two-way communication across 22 languages, helping customers and branch staff interact seamlessly despite language differences.

The system supports both text and voice modes, allowing users to speak or type queries in their preferred language, which are instantly translated for effective communication.

The platform aims to eliminate language barriers at service counters, ensuring accurate understanding and improved customer experience. It reflects the bank’s focus on combining AI with customer-centric design to enhance service delivery.

According to Debadatta Chand, Managing Director & CEO, Bank of Baroda, the initiative reinforces the bank’s commitment to operational excellence and inclusivity by leveraging advanced language technologies.

In the first phase, bob SAMVAD will be deployed across 250 branches in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra, followed by a phased rollout across the bank’s wider network.
