B2B Infomedia: Indian Urban Cooperative Banks have been improving their performances over the years and thereby becoming bigger and stronger. They are adding new products and implementing newer technologies to streamline operations and enhance customer service. However, there is always a room for refinement and the journey will continue. What is noteworthy is that they continue to believe in the vision of the cooperative sector being a strong pillar of economy and society.
B2B Infomedia organized the 7th All India Urban Co-operative Banking Summit & Awards 2023 on 14th June at Mumbai. This summit was well supported by major stakeholders of Urban Cooperative Banks in India. National Federation of Urban Cooperative Banks and Credit Societies Limited (NAFCUB) was the Knowledge Partner whereas various state level federations joined the summit as Supporting Partners.
Having the theme “Infusing Professionalism through Technology”, the summit was begun by the keynote speech by the Guest of Honour, Shri Satish Marathe, Director RBI, who talked about various policies level decisions taken by the RBI for Urban Banks for their betterment. He also emphasized on the importance of technology to have transparency into the systems.
Inaugural Session having the topic Co-operative Banking Today: Living Up to the Values and Principles of the Co-operative Identity in a Fast-Changing World was well taken up by Shri Shubhash Mohite, Chairman, Pune District Urban Cooperative Banks Association, Shri Vishwas J Thakur, Chairman, Maharashtra State Urban Cooperative Bank Association & Nashik District Urban Cooperative Banks Association, Shri Pundalik N Kerure, CEO, Karnataka state Urban Cooperative Banks Federation and Shri Anurag Srivastava, CEO, Uttar Bharat Urban Cooperative Banks Federation who shared their challenges and area of improvement for their member banks.
The Special Address was given by the CEO of newly constituted National Urban Co-operative Finance and Development Corporation Limited (NUCFDC), Shri Atul Khirwadkar.
CEO and MD ofZoroastrian Cooperative Bank, Adarsh Cooperative Bank, Hyderabad, Adarsh Cooperative Bank, Rajasthan and CEO, NAMCO Bank had discussion on Digital Banking and its importance. Panel Discussion on Cyber Security and Customer Oriented Banking was well appreciated by the participants
At the end of the Summit the introductory Urban the Co-operative Banking Awards 2023 was conferred to 33 individuals/banks out of 70 nominations received for their marvelous works done for the up-gradation of their respective banks.
