Punjab & Sind Bank has secured approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to establish a branch at the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) in GIFT City, Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
The new IFSC branch will enable the bank to expand its presence in global financial markets by offering foreign currency lending, trade finance, treasury operations and other international banking services. Operating from GIFT City is expected to help the bank better serve corporate and institutional clients with cross-border financial solutions.
Swarup Kumar Saha, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Punjab & Sind Bank, said the RBI’s approval represents a significant milestone aligned with the bank’s long-term strategy to enter international markets. He added that the GIFT City branch will strengthen the bank’s participation in global finance and support India’s ambition of emerging as a global financial hub.
The move reflects the bank’s focus on sustainable growth, innovation and long-term value creation for customers and stakeholders, while also supporting national objectives related to financial sector development and global integration.
