Zeta has inaugurated a skilling centre in Hyderabad to help underprivileged youth develop the skills and confidence needed for jobs and entrepreneurship. Funded by Zeta and delivered in partnership with the Head Held High Foundation, a non-profit that works to transform the lives of marginalised youth through skilling, the initiative combines literacy, communication and workplace skills.
Zeta is funding programme delivery across three centres in Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Mumbai, including curriculum, training centre set-up and trainer fees. Each centre will run a three-month programme for 2 batches of 60 participants. Training has begun at the Hyderabad centre, with 10th October marking its formal inauguration. Operations at the Bengaluru and Mumbai centres have also commenced, with formal inaugurations planned in the coming months.
The initiative falls under the Employability pillar of Zeta CARES, the company’s CSR programme, which spans Education, Employability, Entrepreneurship, and Ecology.
The India Skills Report 2026 puts overall employability at 56.35%, which means more than four in ten candidates assessed still fall short of what employers need. For young people from underprivileged backgrounds, the gap in hard and soft skills is often wider still. Zeta chose to address this by delivering a curriculum that combines technology and soft skills, with a focus on job placement outcomes.
The initiative is delivered through Head Held High Foundation’s ‘Make India Capable’ programme, a skill development and livelihood programme designed to equip underprivileged rural youth with the abilities they need to build stable careers. Participants develop functional skills such as communication, spoken English and confidence building, alongside digital skills that help them use digital tools and technology in both everyday life and work settings. The programme also focuses on workplace skills, including professional conduct, teamwork and readiness for real work environments, so that young people are well prepared to step into employment.
India has no shortage of young people with ambition. What many of them lack is an opportunity to develop skills that help them secure employment and build a livelihood. Through Zeta CARES, we are supporting practical training that builds both the technical and soft skills young people need to start a career or a business. Our partnership with Head Held High Foundation brings this opportunity to young people across three cities.” Sivaram Kowta, President, Zeta India.
“Skilling should expand the choices available to a young person, irrespective of their background. With Zeta’s support, we are helping young people build the skills and confidence to enter the workforce, pursue entrepreneurship and shape their own livelihoods.” Pankaj Singh Thakur, CEO, Head Held High Foundation
The initiative builds on Zeta’s work to expand access to digital learning. Through Project Shiksha, Zeta has established two computer labs in government schools in Bengaluru over the past two years. Together, the labs have provided more than 600 students with access to digital learning tools, structured computer education and exposure to coding and STEM. The new skilling centres extend this commitment from school-level digital learning to employment preparation for young adults.
