RBL Bank expands network with 23 new branches

RBL Bank has opened 23 new full-service branches across multiple states, taking its total network to 603 branches, as part of its expansion strategy aimed at reaching over 800 branches by FY27.

The new branches span across Keralam, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Gujarat, reflecting a balanced expansion across metro and emerging regional markets.

With a strategic focus on Non-Resident business, the bank has opened 13 of the 23 branches in Keralam, leveraging the state’s large NR population and strong remittance-driven banking potential.

R Subramaniakumar, Managing Director and CEO of RBL Bank, stated that the expansion marks a key milestone in the bank’s growth journey, with branches playing a central role in driving asset growth, strengthening liabilities, and deepening customer relationships across geographies.

Looking ahead, the bank plans to open 200 additional branches in FY27 to further scale its footprint and enhance customer reach.

Separately, the Boards of Emirates NBD Bank and RBL Bank had earlier approved entering into definitive agreements for the former to acquire a controlling stake in the bank through a primary infusion of approximately USD 3 billion.
