PayU partners with CoRover.ai to enable AI-Led multilingual payments

PayU has announced a strategic partnership with CoRover.ai to enable AI-led agentic payments across more than 100 Indian languages and dialects.

Through the collaboration, PayU’s secure payment infrastructure will be integrated with CoRover’s BharatGPT-powered conversational Agentic AI platform and commerce protocol, enabling voice-first and multilingual payment experiences at scale. The initiative aims to simplify digital payments for India’s growing base of conversational and voice-first internet users.

The partnership represents one of the first collaborations between a sovereign large language model provider and a payment aggregator to power AI-driven agentic payments. By combining trusted payment infrastructure with sovereign AI technology, the companies aim to create seamless commerce experiences for the next 500 million users in India who primarily interact with technology through voice and natural language.

One of the early use cases includes enabling voice-based Unified Payments Interface (UPI) payments on Afterlife, India’s first digital succession planning platform powered by CoRover’s Voice AI. PayU also powers payments for Kanhaji.ai, another platform recently launched by CoRover.

Going forward, the companies plan to extend agentic payment capabilities across sectors including e-commerce, travel, OTT platforms, and BFSI. The collaboration will also explore integrating innovations from the National Payments Corporation of India such as UPI Circle and UPI Reserve Pay to enable AI agents to initiate and complete transactions within conversational interfaces while maintaining strong standards of trust, security, and compliance.

Manas Mishra, Chief Product Officer, PayU, said the next phase of digital payments will happen inside AI-driven conversations, particularly for India’s voice-first users.

Ankush Sabharwal, CEO, CoRover.ai, added that conversational Agentic AI is transforming how people interact with technology, enabling secure task completion and payments directly within conversations.
