Cashfree Payments unveils agentic payments, bringing end-to-end AI commerce

Cashfree Payments has announced the launch of Agentic Payments, introducing AI-native payment capabilities that enable complete shopping and payment experiences within a single chat interface.

The breakthrough solution allows businesses to deploy AI agents capable of managing the entire shopping journey, from product discovery and recommendations to payment completion, without redirects or pop-ups.

Powered by UPI Reserve Pay, card tokenisation, and biometric authentication, the platform unifies discovery, decision-making, and transactions into one seamless conversational flow.

“With Agentic Payments, we are pioneering the next decade of commerce where AI not only guides conversations but drives transactions end-to-end,” said Reeju Datta, Co-founder, Cashfree Payments.

“This innovation brings discovery, recommendations, and payments under one roof, offering a frictionless, human-like experience that helps businesses connect with customers and accelerate growth,” he added.

Industry data suggests that 60–70 per cent of online purchases in India fail to convert due to friction at checkout, a challenge Cashfree aims to eliminate. Agentic Payments enables merchants’ AI agents to complete transactions within chat, ensuring instant, personalised, and secure payments while adhering to RBI and DPDP compliance norms.

The new solution forms part of Cashfree’s broader innovation roadmap unveiled at GFF 2025, which includes Banking Connect, an interoperable netbanking solution by NBBL, and Reserve Pay, a Single Block Multi-Debit UPI feature.

Founded in 2015, Cashfree Payments processes over $80 billion in transactions annually for more than 800,000 businesses. Authorised by the Reserve Bank of India as a payment aggregator and issuer of prepaid instruments, the company is backed by Y Combinator, Apis Partners, State Bank of India, and KRAFTON.
